CCTV Maintenance

CCTV Maintenance is the process of maintaining, repairing, replacing, and cleaning the CCTV system. It is not uncommon for CCTV Systems to encounter problems including poor reception, failure to record video, etc. CCTV Maintenance is the root cause of most malfunctions within the CCTV Network. Hence, it is important to understand the entire process of CCTV Maintenance and Repair in order to avoid these issues from arising in the future.

CCTV Maintenance is not a new concept, and CCTV has been in existence since the late 1960s. Initially, CCTV was used for traffic control and for creating detailed maps of large cities. With the passage of time, the demand for more advanced features and clearer images increased and with it, the necessity of CCTV maintenance also grew. Nowadays, all large buildings and most public places are using CCTV cameras as they have become indispensable. However, it is not just CCTV Maintenance that keeps the CCTV system in perfect working condition; it is also essential to properly take care of the CCTV cameras once they are installed on your premises.

The major component of the CCTV system is the CCTV camera which forms the brain of the entire system. The camera system will function only when it receives the video signals from the monitors located across the country. The video signal is transferred to the CCTV monitor through the cables which have been fixed on walls and the different points inside and outside the building. These cables form an external cable system and a series of connectors is utilized to connect the monitor to the camera. The CCTV monitor monitors the images that are being transmitted to it from the camera and at the same time receives inputs from other hardware components like DVD players and microphones etc.

There are various components involved in the maintenance of CCTV cameras. First of all, there are the CCTV cables that carry the digital video signals from the different sources to the CCTV monitor. The cable is of high resistance and hence it is capable of transmitting digital signals for a long period of time. But over a period of time, the resistance level of the cable gets reduced and it allows the signals to be absorbed easily by other components like CCTV monitor and the video recorder.

The most important component involved in CCTV maintenance is the CCTV camera itself. It is very important that the camera should not be working in an area where there is a disturbance. This rule is applied, because if there is an accident, then the system might get damaged. If the camera is functioning properly, then it will be able to capture all the events without any problem.

CCTV maintenance is very important because it not only prevents physical damage but also keeps you away from the troubles that come up because of a broken camera. There are different types of CCTV systems available in the market. Some of them are manual systems while others are automatic systems. Each of the CCTV systems has different features and the level of maintenance required for each of the cameras varies. Therefore, it is very important to hire a CCTV company that offers maintenance services at affordable rates.
